From Cairo to Cup
ILLUSTRATING AN ANCIENT TEA TRADITION
We started a fun passion project to create artwork for the brand Rooibos Co, inspired by our life-long love for tea and a recent trip to Egypt, where we rediscovered the magic of hibiscus tea. We felt inspired to make something truly special and beautiful that captured the essence of this ancient tradition.

THE PROCESS:
We began our journey by sketching hibiscus flowers from real-life images, digitizing them, and adding pastel colors to create a dreamy, ethereal look.
Alongside this, we crafted a distinctive wordmark for Rooibos Co and designed labels that highlight the brand’s commitment to fair trade values. We created detailed digital hand-drawn illustrations of hibiscus flowers, featuring rich, vibrant colors with subtle pastel undertones. These designs beautifully capture the enchanting escence of the tea.
END RESULT:
Our artwork resulted in a stunning illustration that seamlessly integrated with Rooibos Co.’s branding, serving as the centerpiece of their packaging. The bold magenta label, adorned with classic typography, provided the perfect backdrop for the vibrant hibiscus illustration, while highlighting Rooibos Co.’s commitment to quality and ethical practices.
